Rogers created a special moment for two minor hockey coaches in Edmonton. Their day started out at Rogers Place with a private coaching session with Oilers Head Coach, Ken Hitchcock. Not only did they learn what it takes to coach in the NHL®, but some useful strategies they can apply with their very own teams. Meanwhile, their teams, the Strathcona Warriors & Sherwood Park Aces, arrived and got ready for some off-ice training with the Edmonton Oilers strength and condition coach.
The teams returned to their dressing rooms in awe to find each one of their names on the back of an Edmonton Oilers jersey. The teams geared up and stepped out onto the ice for a chance to play like a pro. After announcing the line-ups and anthems, the teams were surprised with two guest coaches: Edmonton Oilers’ Darnell Nurse and Adam Larsson. Nurse and Larsson took their places behind the bench along with our minor hockey coaches for the moment of a lifetime – a game at Rogers Place, with two of their hockey heroes.
